1. What is the difference between a Hot Box®, and a Lok Box TM?

A. The presence of heat. They are the same enclosure.
The Hot Box®, has heat, the Lok Box TM does not.

2. Do we have standard sizes for enclosures to house dual assemblies?

A. Yes! Call and we will be glad to supply sizing and prices for enclosures to house dual assemblies with or without strainers.  - or- click here

3. Is there a less expensive enclosure to house a 3/4"-2" backflow and meter?

A. Stack it in our standard HB1T or HB2T. We will fax you drawings to show you how.

4. Do you have drawings for other size enclosures not shown on the website?

A. We have many drawings that are not yet in the CAD Library on our website . If we do not have it, a drawing can be quickly completed and sent to you.

5. How large an enclosure can you manufacture?

A. We really do not know our limits, but we will advise you if we do not think it is feasible or if we think you can design your system more efficiently and more cost effective in another manner.

6. What is the largest fiberglass enclosure that can be custom manufactured?

A. Since the fiberglass enclosures we manufacture are flip tops, we do limit our size. We can safely manufacture enclosures up to 118"L x 48"W x 56"H. Larger enclosures can create problems with the lid weight and its safe operation during maintenance.

7. Do you have stock on the shelf?

A. We try to keep our shelves full, but as sales grow this is not always possible. Please call when you have a time sensitive situation, we will be more than happy to try and satisfy your needs.

8. What is the best way to submit an order?

A. By fax! We have found there that there is less chance of putting incorrect information into play. This does not mean we would refuse a phone order, but a fax is easier. E-mail is another, excellent way, but we still print a hard copy for our file.

9. Do you provide a technical / design service?

A. Yes, Sandie and Marty are ready to provide technical consultation and design suggestions to aid you using the latest in manufacturers' technical information for backflow prevention devices, meters, etc.

10. Do you sell direct to contractors?

A. No. Hot Box®, sells only through wholesale distributors (and to the Federal Government). We will be happy to give you a suggested contractor's list price, estimated freight charge, and, refer you to approved distributors or representatives in your area.

11. Why are you so limited in your Hot Rok, sizes?

A. Due to the manufacturing process, the sizes shown are the only sizes available. Finding large boulders to create a mold from is a real job. We do not manufacture custom Roks,. The custom Rok, would pale by comparison because we could not mold from the natural thing.

12. Are additional Rok, sizes planned for the future?

A. As with any product, we are subject to growth. Eventually we will produce larger sizes to accommodate more piping designs.

13. Can fiberglass enclosures be purchased in different colors or can the aluminum enclosure be painted?

A. Yes to both, but there is an additional charge.

14. What accessories do you offer?

A. We can install alarms, exhaust fans, louvered vents, interior lights, exterior signal lights and much more.

15. How can I obtain a catalog of Hot Box, products?

16. Can a low-temp alarm be used in conjunction with the heat cable supplied in your smaller enclosures?

A. No. The low temp alarm (TA-4) monitors the air temperature of the enclosure. The heat cable heats the actual piping and not the air inside the enclosure.
